Ralston Turner needs to spend all summer working on his jumpshot. It is way too flat and gets too many shots deflected for someone 6-6.
So i was going to post a thread, but ill just say it here. when do you think LSU Basketball will be relevant when i mean relevant like Top 25 Tourney regular basis and contend with the other big dogs in the SEC east
I don't think we're that far off. Next year's team could be good if we can pick up another post player and Turner works on his jumpshot.
Actually beating some Top 25 SEC teams would be a start. It's hard for me to see a tourny run this year. We're slowly getting some pieces, but with no real breakout leader or star to carry the team on his shoulders when other guys are in a slump, they need a total team effort every game out to win, and there's just no consistency.
of course I wish we were better, but after last year, its nice to see us have a competitive team this year. we've already beaten one top 25 team, and played three other top 25 teams close (two on the road on top of that)....heck, we already have more wins this season than we did the entire last season
I have made a point of watching all the LSU basketball games....well, as many as possible, this season. This is a greatly improved team over last years squad and I expect another leap forward between this year and last year. I agree with King that Turner needs to work on his jumper. I would not be surprised to see John Isaac over take him by next season if he does not improve his shooting. If this team made a nice run through the remaining SEC schedule and played well in the SEC tournament, I see no reason why we couldn't at least be in the conversation for the NCAA tourney. I think if we can get to 19-20 wins and pull off a few more upsets then we will get in. I will be disappointed if we do not make the NCAA next season.
O'Bryant's return should take some of the pressure off of Hamilton. This team needs to hit the gym and work on shooting drills. They have potential to be a good team.
