Thanks Red. I think I'll send them an email, for what it's worth. Two simple things would've made a huge difference. Tell us the lightning rule (and time of last strike within that distance) and show the radar on the big screen every 5 minutes or so. Keep the 100k people in the stadium informed.
You can't tell me that the local weather forecast said nothing about the potential of thunderstorms. Alleva should have moved the game up to 2-3 pm. They really screwed this up. Did they not pay attention to the Florida game last season
Are you sure they get paid if there's no game? There might be an "acts of God" clause in the contract where LSU only pays for their expenses but no game, no big payday
As I was driving into the game weather said it was west and not moving. Also said it would wash out by 7:30. You actually believe weathermen know to that detail? I have a bridge you may be interested in buying.
That was the main problem. All they did was play music and for much of the time the scoreboard showed nothing. They could have done a better job of keeping the crowd informed.
The SEC network could have too. I think it was a dick move by the administration for the people at the game. Had I been there if they would have announced that cancellation was a possibility, I'd have bolted if I was there w my wife or kid or both. But they had people stick around knowing it was a possibility. That's pretty fucked up.
I always say that I should have been a weather guy.....no one else is wrong that much and still retains their job.
