yep .. and if Cam Newton was playing for LSU last year under Crowton, you can bet your butt that we would have won a NCG last year. .. and everyone would be talking about how great Crowton is. OH ... and from Auburn's Stat site .... Newtons' career passing stats 2010 185/280, 66%, 7 INTS and 30 TDs, for 2854 yrds. He rushed for 20 TDs. So .. yeah .. mabe he did beat LSU with no passing TDs .. but he put up plenty in the season ... more with his arm than he did with his feet. 185 280 66.1 2854 7 30
Well since we're correcting, that's "incorrect." I'm not sure what your point is though, seriously. Are you defending Crow baby or Maryland or D O'Brien?
Whoopitdee freaking do. He and his scamming dad got their payday. Good riddance, we are finished with them. Was this not a Crowton thread?
Yeah .. it's a Crowton Thread ... he sucks. Why does he suck??? .. because he's stuck on stupid with regards to this rediculous idea that a QB should be a runner using this option crap. HENCE .. he doesn't develop his QBs to pass the fricken ball. He doesn't call plays in the game to pass the fricken ball. ... and that's all fine and good. But ... it's all caught up in this post modern "FALSE" notion that all running QBs are "duel threat". My Arse! MOST are nothing more than running backs taking the snap, who want to be "the show". They can't read defenses worth a **** .. cause a "runner" doesn't have to, he just has to read the immediate threat to the run. Crowton sucked ... but to blame the woes of the LSU offense purely on Crowton for the last two years is being disengenuous. I think it had as much to do with what he was dealing with ... that being a "High School" flash in the pan who still thought he could win games all by himself like he did in the good ol days. Pass ... we don't need no stinkin' pass .. .I'll just tuck and run when the times get tough .. because I'm da man. I ran against everybody in highschool and nobody could stop me! Crowton was the OC at LSU in 2007 and 2008 ... and I don't remember seeing any of this option crap back then. As I remember, we won a NC in 2007. 2008 didn't fair too well for Gary, cause JLee was a wet behind the ears freshman who couldn't read SEC defenses yet. Now 2009 and 2010 .. the "JJ" era ... and Crowton tries to jump on the Running QB bandwagon .. and he got his azz handed to him. We don't know that this year wouldn't be looking just like last year if JJ would have started. From what I see ... CLM and Stud/Krags are running the same B.S. game with JJ that was run last year .... the only difference, Jarrett Lee, with a pro-style, pass effective, power I offense is getting the majority of the time .... AND .. scoring the overwhelming majority of points in the games I might add. JJ is serving as a nice diversion. JLee's game, IMO, is what is making JJ successful. Put JJ in full time, and that success goes away. Yeah .. Crowton Sucked ... but if it were not for an unfortunate incident at the start of the season, you could be seeing the same ineffective offense we had last year. Crowton may be gone .. but you are not going to convince me that JJ has had some sort of change in mindset. It's still all about him in his mind. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
That's not necessarily true. We went 11-2 last year in the toughest division of the toughest conference in college football and we couldn't throw a lick. That's why I think last year was one of the best jobs Miles has done coaching since he's been here. Hopefully, he can trump that this year.
