Hey Everyone, I am planning a trip with a bunch of friends (about 12 of us) to go see the LSU vs Florida game. I didn't know about how to setup for a tail gate as it's my first time going with such a large group. Do any of you have any open tailgates or tickets to buy entrances to tailgates for that game? If you do, please let me know b/c we'd be interested. My email is [email protected] Thank you! Pete
with our new parking rules, which is gonna be a cluster, good luck. also, while there are no "designated" tailgating spots, fans have an honor system that is pretty much followed. krewes have a spot they have been setting up in for years, or forever, that poaching a spot is frowned upon. sometimes some little frat group or a newb will disregard the honor system, even when told they are poaching. i would not recommend that. just ask when you think you have found a spot if anyone tailgates there. if so, people will help you find a spot they know is open. red will be along soon with better suggestions, post a map of where the new pay per game parking is, and where it is free. but for the florida game, get there EARLY! that is one that tailgating will be hopping by at least 8 am, if not sooner. i think most will set up around 5 or 6 for that game, if not earlier. i think a lot of krewes will be tailgating overnight for that one. i know my krewe will be.
Yah - we're renting a limo van to take us all down there and parking in Lot W. We're def getting there early but not planning on bringing our own tailgate stuff. i know it's very traditional and i don't want to disrespect the system. But i do want to know is if anyone has an open tailgate that i could buy into for our group of Tiger fans. Thanks for the advice though!

My bad. I thought you wanted to set up shop. I suggest walking around and soak up the atmosphere all over campus, not just sticking to one tailgate. Wear your teams colors and be ready to take some good natured tiger baiting and you will be invited to stop and visit and have a bite to eat at a lot of tailgates. Just roll your cooler full of adult beverages with you and you will be full by the time you hit tiger stadium. donations won't be required if you have your own frosty brews, but a small token of appreciation won't be turned down most places. Walking all over campus will give you a good appreciation of how widespread tailgating (hopefully still) is, and also give you a wide variety of cooking.
