Watched some of the FSU/Duquesne game, total domination by FSU. Hard to tell how good FSU is cause the Dukes got nothin' Didn't see anything about FSU that concerned me.
It is hard to determine just how good a team really is when its competition doesn't have near the level of talent. However, there are two things that have me a little concerned. First, having a game under your belt, regardless of the competition, does allow the team to make adjustments and pinpoint new areas of weakness. Secondly, FSU threw the ball to the TE several times and also ran the ball up the middle, which means our LBs are going to have to be on point. It also concerns me that we basically have an entirely new LBing and DB crew that is totally untested and expected to perform on national tv. Clearly, LSU has talent on defense, but it has zero time against any competition. I'm just hoping we don't see any more WRs running wide open and our LBs and DBs looking totally lost. I saw enough of that last year to last me a lifetime!
Agree that getting a game under their belt is big, but I was paying particular attention to the Duke's and they looked a lot smaller and slower across the board than what FSU will face next weekend.
Hard to think of FSU without thinking about the 1982 LSU/FSU game. That was a magical game to see. The game was total domination for us, the atmosphere was the best, I think maybe the best I've ever seen, the many, many hot & beautiful 80's women. Tiger Stadium truly came alive that night.
