Oh, I know that. We all know that. However, you're even admitted it was time for Brady to go. It's the same thing as with wanting Crowton gone, it's only a rational thought if you came up with it.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I wouldn't want to be Kentucky, every year their best player is a freshman, who will only stay one year. At least that is the way it seems to happen. I want to have a team, who has players stay around for at least 3 years, like Big Baby, hate the turn over in players. I will concede a top five rankings every year for that. I believe with Trent Johnson we will becoming a top 20-25 team very soon. However like I said, maybe I'm crazy.
It was time for Brady to go, but he received a ton of unfair criticism from the beginning of his tenure. Until Johnson shows, at least, some indication that he's able to produce a competitive team, I will be the voice of sarcasm on the subject. You can always put me on Ignore, but I know you'll peek.
So disappointing after the first half, they let one player for the other team beat em. Tons of potential, they will get better, turnovers from the 131 zone killed us.
My take after finally seeing the team with my own eyes: Positives: Hickey is explosive!!! The offense needs to go through him. He gets good penetration and finishes well around the basket along with good vision. Stringer is a much more disciplined and well rounded player. He doesn't settle for 3s as much and actually attacks the rim. He looks much more comfortable at the point this year. O'Bryant and Hamilton give us size down low and frees up Storm to do his thing. Also, O'Bryant has a nice touch on his shot and both he and Hamilton shoot free throws well. The team hustles and plays with intensity. Negatives: We turn the ball over way too much. We were getting really lazy with our passes against NW's zone. We are still settling for 3s a little too much. Mostly Turner at this point. He really needed to fix his jumpshot over the summer. He has bigtime scoring ability (18-19/gm IMO, maybe not as a Sophomore, but at some point) but he needs to work on his mechanics. Malcom White should never shoot jumpshots. EVER!!! What killed us this game was the mismatch of Hamilton guarding Shurna.
