Boise BCS blocked - College Football - Rivals.com Guess who has an open date on Sept. 3, 2011? Does anyone think LSU should take this game? We already visit West Virginia and host Southern Miss in non-conference. We're home for Florida, but travel to Bama and Tennessee. Adding Boise St. would likely give us one of the top 10 toughest schedules in the nation for that season, probably top 5. I think we should play them. Thoughts?
May be LSU is one of those SEC teams that rejected Boise State. Does anyone know for a fact that BSU has not contacted LSU? I would love to see that matchup but the truth of the matter is that no one wants to play BSU. Look at what's happening to Oregon right now.
It doesn't matter who you play non-conference. Look at who Fla, USC, Ohio State play non-conference every year and where are they ranked year in and year out. People always say, well LSU needs to play Virginia Tech or Miami or USC. It doesn't matter if LSU plays Boise St. or ULL or McNeese State. You're in the power SEC. You go undefeated and win the SCG, you play for the BCS NC. Until the SEC drops off to mediocrity where 1 or 2 teams in the top 15, this is reality in BCS land. :geaux:
I don't know about future games, but one thing I was thinking last night watching BSU and La Tech.-Everyone (media) will probably say of BSU's victory that it was a tough road conference game and they survived it so the close margin of victory shouldn't matter. However, if LSU doesn't beat them 45-3 next week it will be looked at as a failure to dominate a weaker opponent.
I think we have a lot more to lose than to gain. They're incredibly tough at home. A win by LSUwould be "expected" and a loss...oh my God. I may be wrong but I'd think a middle-to-upper tier Big 12, PAC 10 or even Big 10, ACC, or even Big East team would better help our SOS. For those WAC, CUSA teams, it's their Bowl game when they play the LSU's of CFB.
The deal BSU is floating is to travel to play anyone, and not ask for a return trip to Idaho. The game would be at LSU.
I'm tired of paying to see usl, la tech and so forth come to baton rouge. stadium isn't full (see last week) and crowd isn't in to the game. bring them on. why would we be scared of boise st? we play in the best/toughest conference and some people here are "scared" of boise st? As long as they don't bring Torrie Wilson on the sidelines to distract our players, we should beat them.
