First you bump a three day old thread...then you attempt to stifle the conversation??? :insane: How bout we just be honest and post what is, in any case, and see how it plays out on the field?
Has been fairly quiet for the past week. Just thought Purple nation needed the bye week as much as the team. I wouldn't worry too much about providing "ammunition" as relentless as the debates have been, yall would just stick me in the "sunshine pumper" category. Hard to be a villain over there.
Has Saban interviewed for the Dallas job yet, heard Shula was going to make a Tuscalooserville comeback.
These 2 are KEY IMO. We all know our D will keep us in the game until the last minute or so, the question is, what can the O do to help??? IMO, I think this is a good game to get about 10 passes to D Peterson.. HE IS WAY UNDERUSED... If we use him early and often, I think we can create some opportunities down field for RR late in the game. Though, all this rides on the fact that we field a decent QB with coaches who had half a game plan ready....
I don't know about 10 passes, but I agree that he is a dynamic player who is not being utilized properly. (One of many, unfortunately) One thing that blows my mind is how we refuse to use play action near the endzone. We never use PA rollouts and hit the TE in the back of the endzone or the fullback in the flats.
Good points. One thing I havent noticed, and maybe I just haven't looked hard enough, but you would think that GC would design pass plays to give J Lee and JJ a quick dump off. It seems that when GC calls a pass play, its either a screen of some sort, everyone deep or everyone short. But like I said, I am not an offensive guy. I just know D and mainly just key in on that as it has been the only bright side of things as of late.
Might be a good time to let him get Tolivers passes since he can't seem to catch anything near him. Honestly I don't see how he stays in the lineup, only passes I see him catch are the impossible ones.
LOL I thought it was because he was just in shock every time the ball was close to his hands. Or he was intentionally trying to phuck his pro chances....
The dump off pass is non-existent in our offense. You'd think they could have a TE or RB release after blocking for a few seconds in case the receivers can't get open downfield.
That could be it. I really don't understand it... he can catch a 70 yard pass one handed that deflects off the goal posts, with both feet in bounds by about a toe nail length... but hit him in the hands or numbers and it's a no go. I keep waiting for him to break out and show the beast within but it just never materializes. Maybe riding a little pine will bring those hands back. Imo, RR is the best real threat we have at WR... dood is gonna be sick if we can find a decent passing QB.
