This game was frustrating, I'm sure for the players as well as the fans. Too many blown assignments by the defense, especially the ends and lb's. We lost containment way too many times and lost touch with the tight end. And our offense was way to inconsistent. Now we need to really work hard in the bowl practices to develope the next wave of players, dominate a good team in the bowl and have a great spring.

Then have a 2011 like regular season all over again.

I was at the game guys. I can say I was frustrated much of the game. Then I saw people leaving early in the 4th quarter. Pissed me off to no end. But the end of the game was worth every bit of the 500 miles I drove yesterday to get us there and back. The crowd at the end of the game was very loud and helped the Tigers win this game.

My wife and I took her sister from Kansas City to her first game at Tiger Stadium. She enjoyed every minute of it. She's always been a LSU fan and this was a great experience for her. Thanks to all who were at the game and cheered til their throat gave out.

I call it like I see it. I just don't flip out like some people do. I really do believe in this entire program and what the future holds in store.

Look, if we would have followed up 2008 with a similar or even worse season then I would have been questioning the future too. If we hadn't changed DC'S that off season I would have been very disappointed. If we hadn't changed OC'S after 2010 & 2012 I would have been disappointed and questioned the future as well.

But Miles has made corrections, he has made adjustments to both his staff and philosophy. And he has been relentless in his and the staff's recruiting. He is bringing in top notch recruits from all over, including places where we had not had much success before.

Now, all we need is to get some great lb's and I think we're going to roll.

I was also at the game. Let's start with a few general observations:

    1. Whether it was because it was really cold or our season has been a disappointment to the fans or that Arkansas had maybe 200 total fans on campus or there were just too many Black Friday sales that could not be missed--Friday morning was a boring, boring scene at LSU. The atmosphere on campus was tepid at best. Dead, at worst.

    2. My 12-year-old was cold after we bought our tickets at the box office, so we headed to the Union and had some hot chocolate and chilled there and at the bookstore until 11.

    3. We made it to Victory Hill in time to get a first row viewing spot for the band and cheerleaders. The cheerleaders are doing a cool new thing where they actually go talk to the fans in the crowd before the band comes down the hill. I got a couple of really cute pictures of my daughter with some of the squad members.

    4. It took forever for the stadium to approach something like capacity (whole gaping sections never filled.) Our seats were in section 230, directly above the student section and to the right of the band. My daughter, being a trombonist, enjoyed watching the gameday activities of a college band.

    5. The crowd didn't cheer much. During Pregame, I started yelling "LSU, LSU..." at the usual time, and no one else was yelling. Damn...

    6. The game was frustrating and at times, boring, but that 4th quarter comeback and that 99.9 yard drive by a true freshman capped off by a redshirt freshman hauling in a beautiful bomb was as exciting as anything I've ever witnessed in Tiger Stadium. The crowd had become electric as soon as Jarvis made that amazing catch when Mett was injured.

    7. Jarvis Landry was a true leader down on the field in the 4th quarter. I'm going to miss that kid--almost as much as I miss Honey Badger.

    8. The future is bright for the Tigers. I love my team, my alma mater. The fans are spoiled, though, and I wish they cared more about supporting this team.

    9. My 7th grader, who has been a strong University of Texas lean for quite some time, has put LSU back on her list of possible colleges because she was captivated by the magic of the 4th quarter. And she loved raising her arm with the crowd during "Neck."

Stacey how loud was the vulgarity during Neck, I swear I heard the first part of that phrase clearly on the TV as did a buddy of mine.

It was pretty loud. But my daughter was oblivious to what they were chanting because there was so much other general cheering and celebration going on.
