Question away but when we do win let's not bash the guy and the team. History cares about wins and losses, not how pretty they are.
That's not a line of thinking. It's fact. But I say those aren't excuses for becoming mediocre (player turnover, that is). That happens to every single football program in the nation. We have to overcome that and be better. Better than 9-3. LSU is NOT a 9-3 program.
Arky was playing for the Boot. That was the closest thing to a bowl game they'll play this year. Personally, I thought the game was good and the 4th quarter had me standing the whole time. I'd liked for us to blow them out because of their ranking. But that game was worth every penny of the ticket price if you love SEC pounding the rock and punch each other in the mouth football. It also let us get a preview of what kind of qb Jennings is going to be when the game's on the line.
How many times a season can we use that excuse? Remember Troy, Idaho, TCU, Ole Piss (2nd/3rd string defense), Rkansas (0-SEC) blah blah blah... we hear this shit every season when LSU struggles to put opponents away. Must be a lot of teams that think LSU is their bowl game.
This is the only thing I liked about the game. This kid is going into next year already knowing he can come through for the team. Confidence is everything in sports. And the emotion from Zach at the end. That made it worth while.
I think it's great that we won, but as I suspected the defense had not turned a corner in the a&m game. I have the same criticisms/concerns of Miles as I did in his first season. I do have hope for next season, that our defense will be improved and our offense will rebound fairly well. I'm willing to give Les a break this year. And like the pumpers will point out, he can still finish with 10 wins in a down year. Hell, we won games in this manner in Les' best years, if he wins crazy he still wins.
A blow out will have you leaving early or flipping channels with 15 min of playing time left. An ugly win will have you yelling at the tv or standing in your seats screaming your lungs out. 1 pt or 30 PTs. Just win.
Let me think , how many players from last years team decided to leave their team and go pro. ?? That is why this season we lost 3 games , I think next season we are going to have fun . One more question . Where was the blocking ?? I thought we would loose 4 maybe 5 games , this team has yet to play back to back full games .I think we are lucky . It is hard to compare Vandy with LSU , Ole Miss I can see . When you play the teams we play , you gonna get whipped . Bama has had two game so far that had teams as strong as they are . Our team when it comes together is as strong if not stronger . Now I say if the NCCA does not do what they should to Bama after the ESPN report then we need to shut down the NCCA and college sports . It needs to be as it is , simi pro sports . It is not about the kids education , but a stepping stone to the pros . After all they are not getting and education .
