We got screwed by the SEC and TV last year for several bowls if you weren't paying attention. A&M was the darling and the others fell in line, so yes, our team felt like they were in a meaningless bowl IMO. Two teams from the SEC made the BCS and one got smoked by Louisville. Shit happens and thank goodness recruits don't pick teams based on a one year bowl game.

I realistically expected a 1-2 loss season solely based on the defensive side of the ball. But I never expect to struggle and lose to a team playing a 2nd and 3rd string defense, and come in to the last 2 minutes down by 3 to the worst team in the SEC.
There's glaring issues within this staff, sorry if I expect to see a polished finished product on the field instead of playing to our competition week in and week out. Striving for perfection is how you get there, just being happy to settle is how things begin to decline.

We didn't get screwed... quit acting like the butt hurt lover on the side. We play down to competition, we avg 3-5 false starts a qtr, we play very uninspired football period 10/12 games a year... we are not the glamour team of Miles 1st 3 years... we were passed up by a better looking team in a better bowl. Now who says style points and the play on the field don't matter?

You mean the butt hurt A&M team we beat, and a South Carolina team we beat that got better bowls? I guess head to head wins aren't style points in your view. Thanks for blaming me for loving my 10-2 team getting the 5 slot in the SEC.

So next year we have all new receivers, new running back(s), a couple of new lineman, new QB and what is the prediction going to be? 8-4, 9-3 again?

    Is that acceptable?

When you're at Bama, LSU, Texas, USC, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma there is no rebuilding, only reloading. Wherever you're inexperienced, you need to coach in such a way to prevent that inexperience from biting you. You have to step up your coaching. If you have a new QB, you have to put him in the best position possible to succeed. Somehow, someway. Nobody wants to hear excuses about who isn't here anymore. The bottom line is Chavis did not do a good job with the kids he had available. He took too long to get the young kids PT and stuck with upper classmen who weren't made to play at the SEC level. Coaches make mistakes just like players do.

I think people are overlooking something when they blame the coaches for playing down to the comp... That's not coaching, the leaders on the field is responsible for that... You need somebody in the huddle to stand up and say something... Tell the other players to get their heads out of their collective asses and play some damn football... That happens on the field by players (usually the qb) and I think we lacked that this year on both sides of the ball... I like mett and think he's the best qb we've had in a while but I don't know if he was that guy in the huddle that other players looked to to steady the ship as they say... I couldn't begin to tell you who that guy is on d...
Its the coaches job to prepare the players and game plan... Once the emotion of the first few minutes of the game wears off, leaders on the field are responsible for keeping the huddle in check...
