You're cool with a 19-6 record over the last 2 seasons? Serious question. Being that you're "extremely" happy with the win. Don't get me wrong, I am happy we won, simply to avoid the embarrassment of losing to a team that was 0-7 in the SEC and for the young kid at QB to get a boost of confidence going into next season. But overall this program is bogged down and I think we're headed into Oklahoma/Texas/USC territory of being irrelevant in terms of national title talk. You'll win games simply because you have the talent to. That's how we got to 19-6. Coaching em up is a different story. It's how we got to 6 losses.
Just saying. We pay too much money for a coaching staff that apparently doesn't know how to get the most from our athletes. When teams filled with 2* & 3* recruits can routinely punch us in the mouth, and take us to the 2 minute mark in the 4th qtr with a lead... changes are in order, somewhere. Right off the bat, with the amount of false starts that have killed us for years, coach dud needs to be shown the state line.
Without even researching, I know for a fact that LSU leads the nation since 2005 in calling timeouts to avoid a delay of game penalty.
I am kind of cool with a 19-6 record, yes. I don't get worked up over meaningless bowl games - we got shafted last year and the team reflected that but still almost won. The offense was bad last year which cost us the UF game (OBJ fumble didn't help but I guess Les told him to do that). We addressed that this year I believe. At the beginning of the year, most on this sight pointed out that Ole Miss was a trap game. Should we have won? Yes, but we didn't. The sky was falling after the Bama loss, but somehow our shitty coaching staff managed to stay out of the players' way and we beat A&M. The only teams in the SEC West with better records are a team we beat and one who has the best schedule imaginable. Do I like coming in 2nd or 3rd? No. But other than the sheer fortune that has been Bama, who else does it every year? UF? Georgia? Auburn?
You can be happy with mid-tier talent and an Independence bowl appearance some years then, because those "meaningless bowls" you speak of are a big reason recruits go where they go. If you're a blue chip recruit with offers to go almost anywhere, you wanna go to teams that play for the Chik or do you want to go to the teams that routinely play in BCS bowls?
What was your prediction for the years football team? Mine and most people's is right on tract maybe even one game better than predicted with the departures we had last year, you could not realistically expected to go undefeated or even one loss with this years schedule?? So once again....what did you expect from this years team? There was only one unexpected loss ...ole miss, but most people had ATM penciled in as a loss.
When was the last time lsu went to the independence bowl? Quit being a drama queen....98% of other teams in the country would take what lsu has done over the last 10 years.
