Yes, I have to drive back the Sunday after Thanksgiving every year. The traffic gets awful once I hit I-20. Sometimes, there are back-ups from Tyler to Dallas. So, a Saturday night game will just make it harder to get a really early start on Sunday. On the other hand, my 8-year-old is overjoyed at getting to experience a Saturday Night in Death Valley.
My bad I thought you meant driving back on Saturday. They were doing construction between Tyler and Dallas late last month going west. But that was a friday.
They have been doing construction on I-20 somewhere from Shreveport to Dallas for the last 15 years as far as i can remember. I remember one year at Christmas there was an ice storm, and we had to take 80 from Dallas to Shreveport, and then HWY 1 all the way home. Holy Crap what a hell trip. Was my dad, brother an myself in my dad's single cab truck.
I can second this. Many years, Highway 80 is simply the better option, even though you hit every one-horse town along the way.
no problem i kinda took for granted that most people knew the game was on saturday. they made the switch before the season started. i don't know too many people who are disappointed in that. the negative is i'll get stuck on 14 hour long baby duty while the wife tries to destroy black friday.
