You would have thought they would have extended I-49 from Shreveport up through Northwest Arkansas. I drove from Tulsa to Fayetteville one time and the roads were crappy from there too once you get out of Oklahoma and into R Kansas.
It's not bad at all from Plano. You take 75 north into Oklahoma and get on I-40 in Checotah (hometown of Carrie Underwood). From there, you take I-40 east to Fort Smith and go north on a very scenic stretch of Interstate to Fayetteville. Its a beautiful drive, and only takes about 5 hours from here. Actually, it's probably less than that. The two times we've gone, we've been following a friend of my younger daughter's parents who own a gorgeous cabin outside of Eureka Springs. Her friend has to stop every 100 miles for the bathroom. My girls are trained extremely well for road trips. We stop in Natchitoches on the way to Baton Rouge and back. That's it. One bathroom break. So, they are amazed that we stopped at all on the way to Fayetteville. They're like, "It's four hours. What's the big deal?"
For some reason women can hold it longer. I would guess they have to seeing the long lines at stadium ladies rest rooms. Depending on whether your friend is a man or a woman they could use a Stadium Pal or a Stadium Gal http://www.stadiumpal.com/ http://stadiumpal.com/gal/
Hmmm...let's see. Do I want to stand in line at a women's restroom (albeit in sometimes a long line) or do I want to stay in my seat and essentially piss myself? Tough, tough decision. Seriously? There are people that would buy this? When I'm at Tiger Stadium, I leave my seat exactly one time. I rush to the restroom about 3 minutes before halftime on the clock. There is never, ever a line at that time, and I'm always back at my seat before halftime actually arrives.
There must be people buying it. I first heard of it about 15 years ago and they are still around. Would be great at Mardi Gras too
I had a girlfriend who would want me to stop at someplace with a bathroom but she would hold it for the next one if the gas station didn't look sparkling clean.
