Miss State 1st, then Va Tech. But yeah, LSU big in this one. Appy State's win against Michigan makes them their own worst enemy in this game.
I think fans generally put way too much emphasis on the heat & humidity. How often is that really a factor? Not that often. Appalachian St has played at LSU before & kept it a pretty close game.
Whoops - you're right - Miss State first. More veteran last year, perhaps more talented and deep in some critical areas this year. If the CBs show up, our D will be as good or better than last year. Big "if", but not out of the question.
By the end of the year, I expect our defense to be better than our defense was at the end of last year. But not in the first game.
you all missed it. LSU with more than 2 weeks to prepare for someone under Miles = deadly Don't count Zona State, because what they did there can't count as preparing. But: 2005: Miami 40-3 purple 2006: ULL 45-3 purple Notre Dame 41-14 purple 2007: Mississippi State 45-0 purple Ohio State 38-24 purple Appy State is good. But they would be a 2-6 or 1-7 SEC team at best. I do not care if they beat Michigan. That was one game. They lost to Wofford and Georgia Southern, too. Find me SEC teams who would lose to Wofford and Georgia Southern. Michigan was a fluke, because they were overlooking the Mountaineers. That will never happen ever again. LSU wins by 30+
Win by 70 Im so sick of the well if they can beat Michigan.... You now why it is a big deal? Because it NEVER F'IN HAPPENS! "I hope your players are overlooking us too....lblah, blah, mcblah." They probably are and will still win by 70.
LSU 41 APP 28 App will be able to move the ball but won't play turnover free IMO. We will have trouble stopping the run and an unproven kicker is a difference as well.
