Trask vs the back up is not an important issue to me. The battles in the trenches, and our tackling abilities are much more significant in my opinion.
First lock: That ain't happening. I got LSU -4½ back in September. This weeks line ... I've mentioned what my thoughts on this game and the odds already. http://www.tigerfan.com/posts/1799373/ I didn't play vs MSU or vs AU in the preseason. I haven't looked to see what those lines might be today...but we know they'll be different game week.
FWIW, a "sharp" can be anyone. Anyone. To be referred to as a sharp by a bookmaker you have to lay enough money to move the line. I could drop 50K on a line and make it move and hence I'd be referred to as a sharp. There are caveats, of course, like track records. But it is not how you're describing the situation in "corporate entities are your sharps."
In my view a key in this game is whether UF can stop the run forcing LSU to go to an air attack. They've got a pretty good secondary. In LSU's favor is UF's passing game against the LSU back seven. Florida has a pretty good pass rush. If they can get to Burrow a few times and get him looking over his shoulders (so to speak) forcing some NOT we'll have a ball game. It's a lot of "if they can" involved here. But that's football.
Why? We haven't ran the ball worth a crap at all this year. Doesn't seem as if anyone has "forced" LSU to pass, we just do it, because we can
I’m going into this assuming we won’t be able to run on them lol. I think the offensive coaching staff is more comfortable with the passing game to be honest. I think the run game would significantly help out our defense, but I have a feeling they are going to try to come out guns blazing just to get a lead before trying the run out. The Florida pass rush is what worries me, though. The secondary isn’t bad, but I like our WR core much more. The DL is what worries me, like you said. Edit: so I should say that I think the downside of not being able to run will force our defense to be on the field for long periods of time; not that it will force us to pass. I still think the pass is our best weapon.
I can't wait til Saturday so the Tigers can shut up these damn Florida sports commentators. They are driving me nuts!!
Simple math, Shane, If they can control your running game and get by with a four man front they have the numbers advantage in the secondary. LSU hasn't faced a back seven like Florida's this season so just because they "did versus Texas" doesn't equate to being able to do so versus Florida.
What doesn't equate is you saying anyone is going to "force" LSU to pass. This isn't Les' Tigers, we will pass if we freaking want to so don't come in here acting like the team can't move the ball through the air. I know you are hoping that they can't. Trust me, they can and they will. Whenever the hell they want to!
It's a figure of speech. Change ratio of play calling more to one dimension. Oh geez. Triggered? I didn't imply anything of the sort.
