I agree they will grind it out. I am starting to wonder if the team depth will come into play; the 2nd line team seems capable of playing with intensity and excitement.
Look at the backs and their numbers relative to the numbers that Bama held them to. Arkansas has the 94th ranked rushing offense but the #5 back in the nation. Do you get it now? Tulane's back had about 32 yards against our D and look at his total numbers....and unfortunately he wasn't able to play against LSU due to a shoulder injury.
Hard game to predict, it depends on which LSU team shows up. I think LSU wins a low-scoring defensive struggle 14-10 with the home field advantage. I think Bama wins a high-scoring shootout 35-24 with defensive touchdowns being the difference.
Don't kid yourself. Bammer ain't seen nobody like Scott this year (save for More-no, but that's been covered already). If he gets 25 carries as you predicted, then he gets 175-200yds. He's the kind of back that gets better and better as the game goes on. And by the late 3rd, early 4th, he's still gonna be fresh (dude to our depth) and wearing down that thin, not-very-good-in-the-2nd-half, defense. So you'd better hope that your prediction on the no. of carries is way off, because you want no part of Charles Scott touching the ball 25 times. My prediction: Bama nation has nightmares about the names 'Scott' & 'Williams' for some time to come... LSU - 24 Bama - 13
Bama has 3 backs as good as Scott, how is LSU gonna stop Bama's running game? I pulled for LSU last year in the SECCG and BCSCG, but this is Bama's year. Bama - 31 LSU - 17 And that is being generous, if LSU does not show up fired up like I expect, Bama will blow them out.
Step away from the purple kool-aid asap. I think it's spiked. :insane: Georgia's D is not very good. Scott had 144 yards and LSU still gave up 50 points. Florida's D is good and Scott had 35 yards and LSU once again gave up 50 points. Your argument is one of a kool-aid drinker chaos. 100+ yards would be a milestone against this D. This is another proven defense you will face. Saban is going to dare you to throw the ball and stack the box--Scott will not have success against 9 in the box... If I were you, i'd be more worried about stopping 2 better backs in Coffee and Ingram.
Charles Scott -- LSU -- #2 -- 123 yards per game Glen Coffee -- Alabama -- #4 -- 99 yards per game Mark Ingram -- Alabama -- #7 -- 59 yards per game Roy Upchurch -- Alabama -- #18 -- 37 yards per game You've got ONE back who's even in Scott's class. The same way we've stopped it for the last six years. IF you TAKE it, I'll pull for Bama, too. But no one is going to roll over and GIVE it to you. It's Bama's year if only if they finish #1. We know it can be done . . . we've done it twice in the last five years. Well, that is one possibility . . .
I hope Nick is that stupid . . . but he ain't. You're not going to see 9 in the box. Lee can't read a zone, but if you give him man coverage, he's going to move the ball in the air. Nick knows this, even if you don't.
I'm going to go with a slim LSU victory based on home field and the #1 ranking being a curse the last two years. If Bama wins in Death Valley go ahead and give them the BCS trophy. I only hope Ohio State finds a way to get back in it.
