I agree that it's silly to try to pick a "best" recruiter between just Carroll, Meyer, and Saban.

However, I don't agree with your opinion on Davis, Weis, Miles, Richt, Tressell, Rodriguez, and Brown. I think you made a snap judgment on them without giving it a lot of thought.

What do you not agree with? Its certainly debatable, I just dont know what you mean - better or worse?

It wasnt much of a snap judgment. It is probably a ten year judgment.

PC has shown an ability to recruit kids from anywhere in the country. Westwood has the same benefit of location, weather, media, talent pool but none of their coaches has been able to successfully and regularly reach into SEC and other territory. Yesterday returned 3 Florida kids and still one from Georgia on the list. When the top players are up for grabs, PC is always in the hunt.

Mack doesn't make Tier 1 for me simply because the roster is what 95% Texans? From Texas and heading East, football is what kids live for and think about doing from the earliest ages. Maybe not so much in California where other sports are in the mix.

Weis, who the heck knows how he does it? Some kids have said it was his NFL experience, others pick the school based on tradition or the desire to help bring it back. With Te'o, Weis really played up the Mormon mission, took him to a Mormon church in south bend. Truth is, while USC has and has had a lot of Mormon players, we don't have a great track record when it comes to kids actually leaving to take one. Otton is the only one I can think of. Weis is not kid friendly and from what little I've heard he runs a boot camp.....not much fun.

not saying he wouldnt be successful elsewhere just not certain.

mack and butch have proven to pull in top classes at NC and elsewhere.

nick was known to be a great recruiter at LSU but many wanted to see him do it at a much lesser university. And he has by pulling in the last two top rated classes at bama.
