    1.Ohio State.......26......2....16.....8....3.77....2,545
    2.LSU................22......4....10.....8....3.82...2,514
    3.USC................18......5 ....9.....2....3.94....2,404
    4.Texas.............20......3....11.....6....3.85...2,375
    5.Alabama .........22......3.....9.....9....3.71.....2,263

    LSU Projections:
    Randle, Mingo, one 4 star (Montgomery,Myles,Kelly,JJones,Su'a Filo,Sentimore) = 2820
Note: Bell could decommit = Subtract 60
Note: LSU getting an additional 4 star or Benton counting as a 4 star = Add 60
    High: 3020 Low: 2760 Projected: 2820

    USC Projections:
Te'o, two 4 star (Telfort, JJones, Charles, Su'a Filo, Byron Moore), 1 decommit (Carroll or Jeffery) = 2790
Note: One additional decommit (Carrroll or Jeffery) = Subtract 140
Note: 5 star Burfict likely switch to ASU due to grades = Subtract 250
    High: 2930 Low: 2545 Projected: 2790

    Alabama Projections:
Kirkpatrick, Massie, Patrick, Stinson, two 4 star (Myles, Patterson, Brandon Moore, Kelly, Lacy, Teague, Bell) = 2720
Note: Sentimore may not qualify or decommit = Subtract 60
    High: 2900 Low: 2660 Projected: 2720

    Florida Projections:
Jenkins, (JJones or Telfort), two 4 star (Charles, Robinson, Evans, Brandon Moore, MBrown, Starling) = 2660
Note: Richardson picking Florida = Add 180
Note: Teague may decommit = Subtract 140
    High: 2900 Low: 2460 Projected: 2660

Additional Notes: Alabama must get Massie in order to have a shot. USC has to hope Burfict qualifies as a USC commit to have a shot. Also, Carroll appears to be a likely decommit for USC as well. Florida must steal Richardson to have a shot and fend off Penn State for Jenkins as well as hold on to Teague.

    Re: Official Rivals Rankings (Current)

    It's possible.

If we pick up Randle, Campbell and Debose, that projects to 3100 minimum. LSU has 5 more recruits that are 3 stars, which means we would pick up points with picking up new 4 star recruits (40-50 points at a pop, approximately). Thus, if we pick up Mingo and Myles, for instance, then LSU projects to very close to 3200 points.

Breaking the record appears inevitable, smashing the record depends a lot on what happens in the next couple of hours (i.e., Campbell). Don't forget, Ford gets one more shot at getting his 5th star. I hope him playing in the all star game in Hawaii doesn't prevent him from doing just that. He's no worst than the 4th best RB, period, which would put him in the top 30 most likely (Michael is 4th currently and ranked in the top 30). I just hope rivals sees it the same way. Lastly, we don't know what will happen with Benton and if he would even count as a 5 star this year.

USC had 8 five star recruits in 06, the problem they had was limited schollies, as they ended with only 18 recruits. They, in essence, recorded 0 points for 2 of their spots.

I am gonna put up the players LSU is still gunning for and the most approximate point value I can give so everybody can interchange them out and come up with their final class and respective point value.

We will also be able to determine what is the minimum it will take to break the 3018 record.

    Re: Official Rivals Rankings (Current)

Last rivals rankings due out in the next 10-14 days (week of Jan 18-22 most likely):

    I expect:

    1) Downs to be elevated into the Rivals 250. How far up he goes is anybody's guess. I think he should be in the top 100.

    2) Davenport will be trying to hold on to his 5 star ranking. If a handful of 4 star recruits get bumped up to a 5 star, Davenport will lose his ranking.

    3) Randle will hold on to the #1 spot. A lot of people think Bryce Brown will take his spot, but rivals does not like moving their #1 guy out unless it warrants it (see Barkley's senior season). In other words, Randle's Army game was more than enough to have rivals leave him right where he is.

    4) Dubose should move into the top 10 after the showing at the State Championship game as well as the UA game in Orlando.

    5) Allen may be elevated to a 4th star.

    6) Claiborne will be elevated to a 3rd star and has an outside shot at a 4th star.

    7) Garrett will probably remain a 3 star

    8) Michael Ford should get his 5th star, but it's too close to call. He will end up anywhere from 20 to 40.

Damn I did the list before, lost what I had, and it included Ford.

    Corrected!

    Thanks.

how are we going to add points if each recruit from here out is going to yield less points?

I don't think Davenport is going to drop from a 5-star. Regardless of his performance in the game, Rivals was raving about him in practice. You don't just gauge a players ranking from that game, it matters in practice too. He also wasn't 100% and still impressed in practice.
