he's just mad that tulane didnt hold the game ransom for lsu to get out of. i think (most) tulane fans didnt mind canceling the game, they just wanted more money for it. and they will supposedly have one more chance. the deal was one game in the future, undetermined. yeah. right. im not holding my breath for that game to happen!
North Carolina will get LSU's very best effort - they won't be sneaking up on anyone, and after the last two seasons, LSU surely won't be looking past them. Even with mediocre QB play on LSU's part, the Tarheels will have to play well above their talent level to beat LSU. I expect a good game - but only in the first half. And if our QB play is good - it'll be over earlier. I'm not sure there's another team in the country with many more offensive weapons than a healthy, ready to go LSU.
from the game itself, he may be right. under the contract we just canceled with Toolame, LSU was guaranteed half the Dome in ticket sales (40,000 seats even if dome not sold out), plus a decent percent of concessions. doubt seriously they got that sweet of a deal in Atlanta. Now TV on the other hand is a different story. This game is on ABC in primetime. Not a chance in hell a game against Tulane was getting a National Audience in Prime Time. only way it gets on TV is if kickoff was before lunch with Pam Ward calling the game.
You may be right. But I only expect this will happen if there are turnovers involved - North Carolina will struggle on offense all night long. However, Carolina will have a top five defense, and if there isnt an extremely dominating rushing attack by the Tigers, Jefferson will be running for his life all night long.
I've heard all about UNC for the past 3 years...but I haven't seen anything yet. I have a lot more faith that LSU will be ready than UNC. Sorry. Not trying to disrespect them, but it's almost as bad as people saying how tough USCe is gonna be every year lately...but they're not...ever.
I don't think many thought Carolina would do much last year since their whole offense went to the NFL. They did, however, end up with the sixth best defense in the country. They will have the best defensive line in the country this year, anchored by Robert Quinn and Marvin Austin. Plus, their secondary is filled with upperclassmen. Eeven though they should be in every game, they will probably lose some games because of their offense...sounds familiar, doesn't it.
National TV exposure is priceless. We'll be splitting the profits with UNC, like we would with Tulane, there is no home team. LSU loses nothing by dropping Tulane.
I think it depends on 2 things, QB and O'line. I know our D will play a good game. The real ? mark this season will be our O........ I think we will win soundly, but I guess that is b/c I have my shades on!
