do you old guys here remember Fish 19? My padnuh on the old Geaux Shows? He is one of the founders of the team... #5 on the roster.
I will be content when we finally acknowledge the under appreciated sport of women's mud wrestling. Our golden girls should be able to incorporate that into their spring semster with ease. Mud, jello, whatever, I am not that hard to please. Think of the untapped $ in that sport Joe...
LSU doesnt spend a dime on Club teams. Matter of fact if i recall they have to pay to play (IE cover their costs, etc). I know my buddy who played on the SMU team only got Jerseys from the school and that even came out of their IM fund. The Only difference between this team and a regular adult league, they are not nearly as old and crusty as we are and they are students. But even that is sketch as I skated with a college club team once when they were short a few players and I was in my 30s. They have permission to wear LSU on their jerseys and get to play other schools club teams. Not to minimize it but this is not much different then IM. But keep in mind many 2nd teir sports started as club teams. (Soccer for example). Just depends on interest and is it viable and does it help recruit kids to the school.
I understand that 15-3 is a really good record but the fact of the matter is that the Basketball team has not beaten a good team so far. in fact, tonight is the first time this season that they play a ranked team.
You would admit we're at least on the right track? Which was my point. I haven't seen a well coached team like this in......well......forever Now it's a matter of recruiting....which won't be easy with the limited talent pool coming out of Louisiana.
Great idea. I'd be willing to make a donation to THAT sport. One dollar at a time, of course.:lol::lol:
I do admit we're on the right track, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up with this team yet. They have played 19 games so far this season, 15 of them at home and mostly cup cakes. I will also give you that they played hard today, but they will have a tough time making the tournament.
I would agree with that. In fact I posed the question in the game thread tonite of the importance of a win over Xavier. I think with the loss, LSU has to win at least 22 games, maybe even 23 or 24 to get in now.
With the SEC struggling this year I think that maybe only 4 teams will make it to the tournament. This should be a battle between Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, Miss. State and LSU. Considering that we have some very talented players, it will be disappointing if they don't make it to the tournament.
