LSU Track & Field #1 for second week

We're missing out guys.....

BATON ROUGE -- The rest of the collegiate track and field world is looking up at LSU once again as the Tigers and Lady Tigers have held their No. 1 position in the latest ranking released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

This marks the second consecutive week that the squads have topped the organization’s weekly power ranking as it is based on the seasonal best performances of collegiate athletes nationwide and their ranking on the NCAA men’s and women’s performance lists.

LSU is fresh off a dominating weekend at the 114th Penn Relays in Philadelphia in which it set a combined record for Championship of America relay titles won in a single weekend with six.

We're going to have to build some new trophy cases to hold all of the merchandise they're winning this year.

Speaking of the ladies, tiga where is our updates on softball. Seems like the ladies are heating up at the right time just like the Maineri's squad.

Ladies also took 5th place in the nation in gymnastics at the Super6. I think UF and UGA were the SEC teams that finished in front of us.

Senior Tiffany Garcia threw a one hitter as the 15th-ranked LSU softball team shut out Southeastern Louisiana, 5-0, on Wednesday evening at North Oak Park.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 39-14 on the season

LSU will close out the regular season on the road this weekend. The Tigers will travel to South Carolina for a three-game Southeastern Conference series. With a series sweep, LSU can clinch the third spot in the league tournament in Baton Rouge next weekend. The pair will face off in a doubleheader on Saturday at noon CDT and conclude the series with a single game on Sunday at noon CDT.
