The blocked FG in the BCSNCG. It completely changed the momentum of the game. After that play LSU was on a roll for nearly 2 quarters. Huge, huge play in that game.
The best play all season, well actaully two... the fake FG over the abck flip for a TD against SC... and the block on the Miss State kid who got totsally leveled. Those were awesome.
Best play of the year was the pass to Byrd to win the game vs Auburn Under the pressure, the clock winding down like it was, the pass was the best ever by Flynn and Byrd may never make a catch like that ever in his career Doucet's 4th down catch vs Bama for the touch has got to be up there as well as the punishing hit by CJones on the QB late in the 4th to win the game for LSU.
So many close games = a bunch of giant plays for a team that went on to win the national championship. I bet in some seasons we wouldn't have near as many big great plays. I have to go along with the blocked field goal and the sack/fumble vs OSU as the 2 biggest plays of the season, the Flynn/Byrd TD pass vs AU as the most dramatic/ballsy, the Chad Jones sack and caused fumble the second most dramatic along with the FU Saban winner and the Hester 4th down conversions vs UF as the "damn, we're going for it again" award winners.
I don't know if we ever re-capture such a season. It was absolutely incredible, the stuff that we'll sit around one day as grannies and granddaddies to tell the little ones on the front porch.
The #1 play is the very last play of the NCG that got us the championship and put an excalamation point on an unvbelievable season.
I would've liked to see the Jean-Francois field goal block in the BCS title game, but I believe this may have been created before the game.
I think it was made before the BCSCG, due to the "we going to the ship" chant at the end...but I would have liked to have seen one Hester play. Looks like the creator really hates Alabama too. :lol:
They got #1 right, Flynn to Byrd at the end of the Auburn game. Perfect placement by Flynn, great catch by Bryd, one second left, it doesn't get any better than that!!! Then, Gotta go to Keiland Williams 67 yard run, that was impressive. I always like the runners.
The last second TD pass in the Aub game & Zenon's pick in the SECCG are a tie for me. They both came at critical times when the game was on the line.
