Since Jacob Hester is off to hopefully a great and long NFL career, what could be his "prototype" is tearing up the Nort Texas HS football scene. Plano HS's All Purpose weapon, Rex "Superman" Burkhead (#20). This kid is absolutly amazing to watch. I have attached a video of his work against a bigger and faster Dallas Skyline team in the 07 Semi-Finals of Texas HS playoffs. The week before he ran for 260 yds and 3 or 4 TD's. Towards the end of the clip, whatch the move he puts on the defender..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwBeetehKKc If anyone has any pull with recruiting, they have to take a look at his kid. He is the real deal and would look SOOOOOO good in Purple and Gold!!!! :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
He is a solid looking prospect, seems to understand how to play football. As I watched some of his footage on youtube the one thing that stood out to me was #4 from Allen - holy **** he looks amazing.
Well I just found out that #4 was Dan Buckner, no wonder he stood out. I did not know he went to Allen, but he stood out to me in the All Star games as well so no surprise there. Texas got a good one.
G-LSU is SO right about Rex Burkhead. I mentioned in another thread that he is a Jacob Hester "starter kit." And G is also right about the "Superman" moniker. The 8th grade boys I teach idolize Mr. Burkhead and call him Superman. Since G-LSU and I both are big fans of the Plano Wildcats (it was good to see you @ the Plano/Plano East game), we see a good bit of Rex. He's the real deal.
He’s got offers from TT and Minnesota but has LSU listed as medium interest- along with Cal, Kansas, and North Texas. Would be good to have a punt returner. Get word to him about LSU camps and there’s a Nike camp in New Orleans coming up- this weekend I think.
He also has a 3.7 GPA, which means being eligible is no problem. A 3.7 @ Plano Senior High is really impressive--every year students from PSHS are admitted to the Ivy League and Service Academies. It's a great, but challenging, school. With that GPA, he's probably about 200th in his class.
I happened to run into two different Plano Senior High football players who will be seniors next year with Burkhead (both kids attended the middle school where I teach). They confirmed that he has an offer from LSU, but he's also been offered by most of the Big 12 schools, too. They did say he's planning to attend the LSU camp this summer, though. Also confirmed was that he's a really good guy, as they both said, "He's not conceited, even though he's such a good athlete. He's really pretty quiet."
