But did we ever have this game filled? If not, then we have known about this for years coming. Tulane was added for the 12th game, which would make this spot the 3rd OOC game in the old 11 game system.
Hey guys, Im located up here in Booone, N.C. and the trash talking and phone calls have started. These guys are really excited about this game, Im gonna hear some smack for awhile , But they really just eant the money..
And no way UAB ever wins one in Tiger Stadium. I just hope none of the players develops a similar attitude.
Appy St. was on the 2009 schedule. This means Verge will be looking for a BCS opponet for next year to replace them next year. Maybe this time he with the extra time he will be able to convince some reasonable BCS team to make a trip to the BR.
Ahem, Appalachian State is NOT a Division II team. They are The National Champions of the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (formerly known as I-AA). They beat the hell out of La Tech or the University of Lafayette Louisiana for an OOC opponent. Guaranteed to be on TV unlike almost any other FCS team. Playing a Division-II team would have hurt us in the BCS calculations. Playing a FCS team will not hurt us.
The problem is it could hurt us. And even worse it can't help us. Nothing good comes out of playing a 1AA team.
Win big.... We were supposed to win big: We just got a rent-a-win Win close... Well, this team is overrated because they were supposed to win big. Lose close... See Michigan '07 Lose big... Let's not even imagine.
