I'm pretty sure I know what 20 page thread you are referring to. At least give credit where it's due. Out of 312 posts, 103 of them were from serious LSU trolls, not people interested in solid football chat like you'll find here. As much as it might seem a similar comparison to use a team like Idaho and Stanford, it's not relatable. Idaho is a team we tried to remove from our schedule, not add and we took the hits when SOS was calculated. Stanford is a conference team, so no escaping that, much like SEC teams (most) have to play Ole Miss. USC is one of a handful of teams left who still have never played a Div1AA team so there is room to converse.
Or LSU's contract with Tulane. When I think of USC v. Stanford, I think LSU v. Tulane. And, FWIW, WeAreSC is like Tiger Forums and TigerDroppings combined into one site. Except TD has a few more (and more accomplished) trolls. And WeAreSC has more folks who claim royal lineage...
I can't even say TD without laughing. Can't even compare it with TF. WeAreSC has nearly zero moderating, anything goes for the most part. As a result, we are constantly inundated with trolls from lots of schools but mostly ucla and LSU. The things that are said there by visiting posters wouldn't be tolerated here. The posters end up doing the troll smacking and it can bring out the worst for sure. Tradition isn't exactly subjective IMO. ucla, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Duke have a tradition in basketball, the Yankees have a tradition in baseball, LSU has a tradition in baseball. Football is hard to maintain NC contention year in an year out. Nevertheless, there are some programs who have established tradition in that sport. Notre Dame is one, Miami is one, Penn St is one, Alabama is one. Surely USC can be included in that list.
I hear you - I only go to TD when I absolutely need a piece of info (since they don't Mod very well, there's much more gossip) and can stand to filter through the lunacy. As for tradition, USC no doubt has remained consistent through the decades. I'm the first one to acknowledge what Bama has accomplished over time. I have to ask...so what? To me, tradition is COMPLETELY subjective - it only means what it is perceived to mean. I wasn't saying USC shouldn't be in the list. I was challenging the notion of the list existing at all. The emporer's new clothes sort of thing. Anyway .... Appy State. Had to say it - it's the title of the thread! Oh...I highlighted those Royalty Tier teams who kinda been sucking arse in their sports lately, compared to their lofty and oh-so-kingly traditions!
If RP doesn't make it to the Fall, or if he has to sit out part or all of the game, it becomes even more interesting. One more reason to hate the season being so far away.
Just saw the news. "Indefinitely suspended for violation of team rules". What the heck is wrong with RP? Does he think normal rules don't apply to him? I have been afraid of this for a while now and hoped he had learned his lesson and would turn it around. Apparently he hasn't. Wonder what the unspecified team rule is this time? I have seen too many talented kids just throw it all away. Also starting to wonder if we should just cut our losses with this kid. How many chances do you get... :geaux:
Sorry can't see the attachment. Not a contributor yet. Still debating. I am a poor boy with a kid still in grad school and a disabled wife
Well may God bless you and I'll tell you what I'll do for you, since I've been where you are, if you stick around and like it here- which I'm sure you will- I will put you up. We've done it before for Tiger fans in school and you sound like a keeper. And I insist, I'm not asking. :thumb:
