lsu will get a regional. to get a super regional, they have to win their regional AND if the regional they are paired with has the home team as the national seed then that host team has to lose for lsu to get a super.
I guess i did not ask the right question. Is there a chance LSU can move highenough in the rankings to be a home team Regional host. Thus if they win the regional someone else has to come to us? If LSU wins the SEC tournment will they be strong enough to be home team here for the regional?
It doesn't look like they will be able to make the Top 8 in the RPI even if they win the SEC tourny and thats the most important factor to the selection committee. But they can make the top 8 in the polls I think, so who knows.
they can be the #1 seeded team in a br regional. the big question is can they be a national seed. iffy and would HAVE to win sect to have any chance of that happening, imo. i am anxious to see where other polls have lsu. i think baseball america gave them the highest ranking last week.
sweet! thanks for the info. i have been watching all morning for those. the usatoday/coaches poll was a bigger jump than i thought they would be since they were 21 last week. i was thinking 15 maybe. the collegiate bb was also a nice big jump. :thumb:
Anybody have the current RPI handy? It looks like Nebraska took the biggest tumble after being swept by Missouri. They were outscored 37-13 which may have cost them a Top 8 seeding. If we can't host a Super Regional, I guess our regional winner would probably have to travel to Rice or Texas A&M.
