No hippie crap?? We have plenty "hippie" types, have some in my family- not to mention the growing number of "Goths" on HS campuses, & alarming illiteracy rates. This was in the Advocate as recently as 9 days ago: http://www.2theadvocate.com/opinion/11222741.html You are correct about our kids learning to hunt though- they hunt for jobs. As far as football is concerned, there are a lot of parallels in the two programs as of recently but, historically? I wouldn't even touch that one. Bottom line is that we wouldn't trade and I'm sure they wouldn't either. Let's not get carried away here though.
Why are some of you guys taking the USC/LSU comparison literally? He's talking on the field, guys. He's not saying Louisianians will become like California people.
Well how bout USC is the next USC. Had it not been for that fluke loss to Stanford (would not happen again in 99 more tries), USC is playing for the national title, again. My updated polls: 1. LSU 2. USC 3. W. Virginia 4. Missouri 5. Virginia Tech 6. Ohio State 7. Georgia 8. Florida 9. Oklahoma 10. Kansas
Oh there we go again with the could've, would've, should've...I think every team has had one of those had it not been (insert whatever)... We could be having like a 30 team race for the championship right now.
Well if you watched the game tonite, you were watching the only team in America who can match LSU talent wise. And if you didn't come to that conclusion, then you need to check your bias at the door.
So what??? They still lost against Stanford, fluke or not, it's there...Every team has what if's.... The one that has the fewest what if's, will be the champ...USC had a big one and they gotta deal with it...What if Pat White doesn't get hurt against South Florida??? What if Dennis Dixon doesn't get hurt against Arizona, or that dude fumbled inside the 1 yard lin against Cal??? What if Byrd doesn't catch that ball against Auburn....So spare me the talk about being biased...You're the one that should leave the what if game at the door.
You're breaking my sad little California heart cause I believe that's true and a game to decide the bottom line won't happen this year. Stanford may have been the biggest egg the USC Football program has ever laid. :dis:
My point being is USC is my 2nd ranked team, even with 2 losses. USC is going nowhere anytime soon. A valid point to what the thread was posing.
