So I didn't see a thread about the LSU team awards given out at the banquet. I agreed with most, found some interesting ones though. • Wild Tiger Special Teams Award: Ron Brooks and Tahj Jones • Jeff Boss Unsung Hero Award: T-Bob Hebert, Ryan Baker, Jarrett Lee and Bennie Logan • Charles Coates Scholar-Athlete of the Year: Taylor Debusk • Alvin Roy Award for Strength and Conditioning: Brandon Taylor and James Stampley • Butch Duhe Award for Commitment to Team: Mitch Joseph, KeKe Mingo, Deangelo Peterson, Eric Reid, Ken Adams • George Wallace Memorial Award for Defensive Performance: Michael Brockers and Sam Montgomery • L-Club Permanent Team Captain on Offense: Jordan Jefferson, Will Blackwell • L-Club Permanent Team Captain on Defense: Brandon Taylor, Morris Claiborne • L-Club Permanent Team Captain on Special Teams: Tyrann Mathieu •Percy Roberts Offensive MVPs: Rueben Randle and Will Blackwell • Percy Roberts Defensive MVPs: Morris Claiborne and Brandon Taylor • Charles McClendon Player of the Year Award: Tyrann Mathieu I struggle a bit with Jefferson as Team Captain on offense. He was suspended and sat on the bench most of the year because of his own poor choices. I really think Lee should have at least a share of that award.
It would be revealing to know if the team members voted on this OR was it the coaches who decided this?
Wing will have a few more years for awards. Wing was the MVP for the " game of the century " and most likely be MVP of part 2.
Anyone else think that he was given that to boost his confidence?? Maybe to try and force him to be a leader?
