LSU finished 54-12, was #1 in the country most of the year, went to the CWS, and people are complaining about the coaching? This, after having lost one of their starting pitchers to injury, and having one transfer before the season so that he can get to pro baseball sooner (didn't want to wait 3 years in college, so went JC). They basically had one dynamite pitcher, and one really good pitcher. You need at least 3 solid starting pitchers in modern college baseball. Vandy is a great example of that. If we had those other 2 arms, and then the remainder of the pitchers, we would have gotten past TCU. I don't think most realize how difficult it is to get to LSUs level, and what it takes to win it all. We did a great job this year as a team of improving small ball play to be more successful at TDAmeritrade, and that is a tribute to CPM, who was also voted COTY, btw.

I'm proud of their accomplishments this year! Sure, I would have loved to see them win it all, but they are a great program and accomplished a lot. The players this year were a special and talented group. They'll do great moving forward, as will LSU baseball.
