Haven't watched many games during the regular season but it was talked about openly that we had no 3rd starter. I don't understand why 2 good arms but no third or great closer when we recruit like we do. Rather, went with the advertised "Johnny wholestaff", or whatever.

right and we played a 3 game series every weekend. no breaks. and won. against other ranked opponents that are in omaha.

number 1 team in country for most of the year. this team is pretty damned good. changed when we touched down in the heartland however. skip needs to share some of that believe you can win envisioning shit with cpm.

Regular season champs just got swept by TCU when it mattered. Another disappointment from LSU sports. At least we got a win in Omaha, and I don't really care about baseball.

Skip would experiment with pitchers and the lineup a lot during season and take some losses for it, but Skip's teams peaked at tournament time. That is what Maineri needs to develop. His team played at a high level all season but seem to have peaked early and stumbled in both tournaments.

Well said. Do you think Mainieri's seat is beginning to get a little warm, given the recent postseason record?

He is right but you asked the wrong guy for a hot seat opinion. He could roll a doughnut and still not have a warm seat according to red

    Of course.

No he didn't. I don't blame every coach for every petty annoyance that makes minions whine. I make logical assessments.

I call for a coaches head when it needs to happen because we are losing or the fans stop showing up. Hallman, Archer, Dinardo, Smoke Laval, John Brady, there have been plenty.

My only real criticism of Maineri last night was taking Doug Norman out for Stallings after Norman had pitched a perfect 6th inning. It was still 6-3 at that point and there was still hope. Why not leave in a guy who was getting it done until he didn't?
