Not sure how LSU does not jump North Carolina after the most awesome display of baseball against a top 10 team possibly ever. North Carolina beat up on an opponent that came into the game already reeling, losing 7 of their last 11 games.
True, but let them keep playing with that edge. I don't care about them being no. 1 until the last out in the final game of the CWS.
I agree. The problem with being #1 is that everybody guns for you. Better to be the hunter than the hunted.
LSU moved to #1 in the Collegiate Baseball poll, the vote between UNC and LSU came down to one point Baseball America keep LSU at #3, behind #2 Vandy and #1 UNC their explanation was: "North Carolina started the year No. 1 and has won 29 of 31 games. It hasn’t been a strong schedule; that’s a fair critique. But I do not see moving a team down from No. 1 for going 29-2, and I don’t know any other sport where that kind of thing would happen. I would say Vanderbilt and LSU haven’t had much stronger schedules. They have been stronger, but not by a ton, and not by enough to move them ahead of UNC. Vandy won a series at Oregon, its most impressive showing. sweeping Ole Miss...series wins vs. Auburn, Tennessee and Florida... LSU’s sweep of Kentucky and beating Miss. State in a series are better than what UNC has on its resume of beating Miami and Clemson, and the Astros College Classic. But neither of those schedules are “wow” schedules.
