Did I knock the guy? No. I answered why his size affected his rating. And the Sanders and Hilliard comparisons are a bit outdated. You didn't teams full of 200 lb safeties and 4.5 40 LBs.
You have lost your mind if you think Dalton Hilliards skills wouldn't translate today as they did back then.
and Dunn and Doug Martin from the yuckaneers was only 5-8 or 5-9... it's not just your size... different position but look at Sam Mills (the field mouse) was supposed to be too small to play middle LBer... he's in the HOF...
Hilliard is 5'8" not 5' 7" & made the 1989 Pro Bowl. Barry Sanders is also 5' 8" & a 10x Pro Bowler. You're height argument doesn't work. NFL made the similar mistake. Garry James was a very good player & because of his 5' 10" height & speed advantage, was drafted 2 spots ahead of Hilliard. Garry never reached 1,000 yards rushing in a season at LSU or in the NFL. The Starter in college is usually the Starter for a damn good reason. I realize you were born in 1978 & have no real memory of the "James Gang" at LSU. But they were a great tandem at LSU. To say that an NFL Pro Bowler couldn't play in what you are calling "Outdated". BTW, Jeffrey Dale was a 6 ' 4" LSU Safety taken in the 1985 NFL draft. Again, your height argument doesn't work.
