Not really. Chavis and Miles are rewarding those guys who are playing well in the Spring. Seems like an open competition which I like.

I am sure they will rotate with the 1st team as well.

Scrimmages are never very interesting for fans, but coaches says they get a great benefit from them. I'd go to just see the scrimmage if I was actually in Baton Rouge because an LSU football scrimmage is better than no scrimmage at all.

But about the QB position. With Jefferson and Lee on the white team together, does that mean that Lee (I'm assuming it'd be him) is considered the 3rd team QB right now, while Shepard will be playing with the 2nd team? Or am I getting that all wrong?

I think you might be slightly off in your assumption. If we played a real game today, Lee would be the #2 guy, imo. I think Miles probably wants to test the 1st string defense with Shepards ability to run and thats nothing against Lee. What better way to test your D than with a guy like Shep.

With the QB's, Shepard will play more than Lee, but I think Lee is 2nd string.

Like I think Shepard will be a gadget guy, but if Jefferson got hurt, I don't think Shepard would be the every snap QB, I think Lee would be.

    Make sense?

I also think they will rotate the QB's around. He's switched other players and I think he will with these 4 as well. Ever since Miles has come in it has been a scrimage format. I don't have a problem with the results it has given us. Its not like when Saban was here and the teams were locked, winning team got steak, losing got beans.

Yes, that makes sense. It's interesting nonetheless.

It has been said that Les never liked spring games and that Skip made him have one for PR reasons. But they have never been proper games for the benefit of the fans, but more of a final scrimmage with their game jerseys on. Seems reasonable to me with fewer injuries and getting another practice in.

I just wish they would have them at night. Some Purple/Gold games were pretty damn hot out in that sun just to watch thump drills.

that's what i was thinking. that's pretty much how miles has done it in the past. hopefully he'll just do it earlier in the game/scrimmage.

Yeah, the 1:00 or 2:00 games were brutal. At least at 5:00 it will be starting to cool down and will get cooler as the game goes on.
