A lot of people think Kiffy is good. A lot of people think Fisher and Smart are good. It’s documented now that O likes to hire friends. Heck, Kiffen might be an improvement over our current OC, but he’d have to convince me that he’s a good OC. You think so, maybe you’re right.
Kiffin's real issue (IMO) is that he thinks that he is destined to be a great head coach. He could be a great OC but you need a qb coach to go with him.
Destined may be the right word. I'm left with no doubt he believes he has the ability to be a good head coach. That's left to be seen on the collegiate level. We'll know for sure next season. I also believe if he'll resign himself to being an offensive coordinator--no matter the level of play--he'd have a very fruitful and rewarding career.
If FAU had equaled last season's success Kiffin would be on the fast track for a head job at a power 5 school in the annual coach merry-go-round. Where he would likely get fired again after a few years. I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump to an OC job soin rather than risk further damage to his reputation by suffering through another dismal season and possibly getting fired by FAU.
Have you wondered what E could do with the talent Bama has right now? We may get that chance next year. If all the pieces fall into place not saying we will be at Bama's level by then but very very close to it. Lets see what E can do with that, ve patient.
If Alabama and LSU swapped coaching staffs and played again, LSU would win that game. I could not be more sure of anything. The Bama staff would look at its slightly inferior roster in purple and gold and come up with some stuff that would work.
I've thought for years that Bill Belichick could - if you gave him a week to plan - take one of those teams he always embarrasses (Miami, NYJ) and defeat the Patriots.
