Total Offense #11 (14 Teams) www.secsports.com/statistics/football/team/total Passing. #10 (14 Teams) www.secsports.com/statistics/football/team/passing Rushing #9 (14 Teams) www.secsports.com/statistics/football/team/rushing Isn't mid-pack #7, when there are 14 teams? Has E even achieved this very minor goal?
Well based on your thinking there would be no Saint Nick Saban. Below is Saint Nicks fiirst 4 years at Mich St. Well it seems O has done better in 2 years than what Saint Nick could do in 3 years with O being in a much tougher conference. At least O won one bowl game in his 2 years whereas Saint Nick apparently couldn't even win one in 3 years. Would you have hired this guy in 1998? It appears O was a better coach in his first years as a head coach than Saint Nick was. It seems O reached "higher goals" than Saint Nick in 2 years than Saint Nick reached in 4. Want to talk "middle of the road" Saint Nick was very much middle of the road whereas O is now upper echelon of the SEC. Next "beautiful theory I can murder with a brutal gang of facts" Michigan State Spartans (Big Ten Conference) (1995–1999) 1995 Michigan State 6–5–1 4–3–1 5th L Independence 1996 Michigan State 6–6 5–3 5th L Sun 1997 Michigan State 7–5 4–4 6th L Aloha 1998 Michigan State 6–6 4–4 6th
More like a brutal gang of bullshit. You have made some stupid arguments here but this one is completely asinine. O did not do better than Saban in his first two years as a head coach. You seem to forget that Orgeron was 10-25 in his first 3 years as a head coach and never even sniffed a bowl game. At no point in Orgeron's past, present or future is he ever a better coach than the evil midget in Tuscaloosa. Carry on CNN. I take that back, now your not even like CNN. You're just making shit up... like the Onion.
First off you think Sabans 4 year record at Mich St was remarkable? It was very unremarkable. As far as Sanban vs O I wasn't counting Ole Miss. He was a different guy and his heart was not into Ole Miss he is a Cajun from Louisiana. OK lets say I give you that one. Lets not compare Sabans bad record at Mich St and O's bad record at Ole Miss. Now lets compare Sabans first 2 years at LSU vs O's first 2 years as HC at LSU. Not much different if you look at the numbers. If we beat A&M tonight it will be a 10 win season making O's 2 years 1 win better than Sabans first 2 years. Saban was 18-7 his first 2 years O is 18-6 his first 2 years with one game left. When O gets Saban type recruiting classes (the 2019 class could be that type) we will see what he can do. Also minus the loss to Bama who is unbeatable within the SEC this year we have one loss. Who else besides Bama is better than us in the SEC? It is you that is full of shit with your own covenient non facts. Go ahead tell me Saban's 4 year record at Mich St was good. It was disgustingly average to poor and he also lost all 3 of his bowl games while there. So drum roll please; Give me another "beautiful theory I can murder with a brutal gang of facts"
WTF are you on? You’re comparing the top 10 program O inherited to the mediocre Michigan St and LSU programs Saban inherited? O is better than Saban and Bill Walsh. That’s what you’re going with? Are these mental gymnastics overcompensation because you don’t believe O/E can beat Fisher (in his first year)?
I believe O and E are as good or better than Fisher and his OC. I also believe this is going to be a tough game to win and predicting a loss. They have a more veteran team with a mobil dynamic QB. They almost beat Clemson and put up 23 on Bama. They are at home and the intangibles belong to them. However I also know this LSU team is not near as good as it will be next year and the years after so a loss tonight will not bother me.
So you predict Fisher in year 1, with less overall talent, is better than O year 3. And you’re cool with it. (The year 1 excuse only applies to E, I guess.) I’ll be disappointed by a loss, but with our crap offense it is definitely within the realm of possibility. But it isn’t O’s fault and it isn’t E’s fault. It’s Aranda’s fault.
