Deserve? Coaches recruit within a radius and Dallas is not included in that area, even though they obviously will take players from there. However, if they do anything for recruiting is is going to either be a national event (ESPN commercial) or something like a basketball tournament in Houston which falls within their radius. A LSU game will not enhance recruiting a ton anyways but it would be great for you and others alums to see a game. However it wouldn't get as much press as a city like Houston because the radio and print outlets wont cater to a smaller audience. With that being said, I would much rather see the game in Dallas.
If we were going to schedule a game in Dallas, it will have to be done pretty soon. Someone else will throw up another stadium elsewhere in a few years and the novelty of Jerry's new crib will wear off.
While that would be cool because it would only be a 3 hour drive for me instead of a 7 hour drive, it would suck because Dallas does in fact suck.
the sad thing for me is, i think any of those stretches of a drive are more interesting than the indian nation turnpike in oklahoma. to add to the boredom, no cell phone co i have found gets coverage along the turnpike. thats two hours of nothingness. the other downfall of a game in dallas i forgot about. giving money to jerry jones. gag.
Smaller percentage of readers and listeners in their viewing and listening areas -- also relative to the other topics they carry.
A series in Dallas vs another BCS school sounds like a great idea, but I'd like to throw out 3 other venues: Atlanta, New Orleans or Houston. I'd like to see us develop an OOC series (VaTech) and play it every year at the neutral venue. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I really hate to be disagreeable but when you get to the metropolis of Bunkie and Ville Platte, Bunkie is to the right as you stated but Ville Platte is to the left.
Unless the game counts as a ROAD game vs a Texas school, e.g. Texas or Texas A&M, I don't like the idea of LSU playing in Dallas. Louisiana needs all the revenue it can get, so any big HOME game should be played in one of two places, Tiger Stadium or the Superdome.
:geaux: I've heard that Houston has more LSU alums than any other city outside the state of La. Wouldn't surprise me. See a LOT of folks with LSU gear on when I go over there a couple times or so per year. :LSU231:
