I would think that a team like TCU or Baylor would seriously consider a matchup with us at Jerryworld.....from our standpoint, it would be a decent (well, at least in the case of TCU) opponent. For either TCU/Baylor, it would be great exposure. Oh, and StaceyO is right.....there is a boatload of Tigahs up here. :miles:
I hope LSU doesn't get into the habit of playing at neutral sites. It really takes away from the experience of home & home series. Part of what makes going to college games so enjoyable is making trips to college campuses and taking in the atmosphere. I really don't care to travel to Brand X Stadium with a Wal-Mart parking lot across the street to tailgate in.
Once the stadium in Dallas is finished, Reliant will be old news just like Texas Stadium is now. I can guarantee if LSU shows up in that stadium it will sell out. LSU wants and needs DFW metroplex players, the more they show up the better the chances get. Gonna be kinda of hard to keep the Cotton Bowl out of BCS once the new stadium is done. Take Reliant, put it on MAX STEROIDS and you have the new Cowboys stadium.:geaux:
while the drive would be a heck of a lot shorter for me, i agree with grad on the whole tailgating thing. if im gonna drive, i might as well add on those extra 5 hours of driving and make it a game in tiger stadium. so if i had to pick dallas or houston, it would be dallas!
Anything that replaces a directional school is fine with me. I dont like neutral site games unless it is a big game, which generally includes an atmosphere similar to a big bowl game. I say no to a game against TCU but would be happy if we met a team like Michigan in Dallas.
I have made that trip many many times (Dallas BR) including 4 times last year. Its not that bad. Just boring between Dallas and Shreveport. Where you get to take a right turn on 49. Stop for a Meat Pie and Gas in Natchitoches. Then after another hour you get to enjoy the beautiful sky line of Alexandria and the hustle and bustle of the Pineville Turnpike. Then down 49 past the metropolis of Bunkie and Ville Plate to your left. Then 10 East in Lafayette(if you skip 190) until you smell the BR refineries and heaven appears on your right as you go over the bridge. Its a majestic drive.
