We should just sneak by Utah for #11 in the coaches. Ohio State probably passes us up in the Harris for the 10th spot.

Georgia will be #8 in Coaches and Harris (#9 in AP).

So there is your matchup for next week.

The direction of the season hangs in the balance this coming Saturday.

Might have something to do with the "whipping" we took last weekend...had we lost by 7-10 points I'd tend to agree, but by that many? They're lucky their still in the top 20. I guess that was payback for making TBO cry like a little girl last year.:tigereye:

PS: I'm not being harsh, just realistic.

If we win Saturday, we'll regain a lot of the respect we lost against Florida last week. The voters have very short memories. How else can we explain how highly USC is ranked so quickly after being embarrassed in Corvallis?

They beat the worst team in D1 62-0.....other than that I really don't know.

They basically just waited for everyone to lose and moved back up. We'll do no different as top 10s continue to fall.

at least 2 top 10's will lose next week, Okie St. and UGA

The Tigers (and I know this is cliche') hold their own destiny in their paws:grin: Being ranked where they are right now isn't all that bad. They can prove to everyone that Fla was just a fluke with a few victories in the right places. They can move up and be a top 10 team by the end of the season. I for one would be very content with that this year. If nothing else, it would guarantee them a top bowl game. But, we have some major hurdles ahead of us. BTW, its very clear Old piss is not gonna be a push over this year. and after all the butt whoopins they've taken from us over the recent years, I'm sure they love nothing less than to upset us. Optimism springs eternal, but we have major questions to answer and challenges ahead before I even begin to worry about the polls right now.:tigereye:

Right now, I say screw the polls and ESPN with their love of the big names, USC, bama, Penn St, Texas.

Especially ESPN, they've been waiting for us to fall, did you see the way they all picked SC to beat us this week?

we got bama and ga. on the schedule, doesn't matter where we're ranked now, we win out, we're right in the middle, like a thorn in their sides

Well, look at it this way. In order for LSU to make it back to the title game, they'll have to beat three teams (UGA, Bama, and possibly Florida in a rematch in the SECG) that are currently ranked ahead of them. So, they best thing for both Florida and them to win out as many of the teams ranked ahead of them have to play each other. The only bad thing at this point is for both Texas and PSU to go undefeated.

When it comes down to it though the loss to Florida will loom large at the end of the season. All things considered if we win out and there is a 1 loss Oklahoma, Penn St (I think Penn St will lose to tOSU), USC team and undefeated Texas the Florida loss will put us in the dog house.
