I suggest that should have occurred during the lightest part of our schedule, the first 4 games. Instead we were more worried about running for 250 yards a pop.

Thus, we are in the situation we are in right now. A Mettenberger who is struggling with his confidence and rhythm.

I'll agree with that. I"ve said the same thing. We know we can run .. we should have been passing the ball in the fluff games.

I had no problem with them taking a shot down the field in that situation. Mett had an open receiver and missed him. But to run that series in a hurry up, snapping each play long before the play clock ran out, was ridiculous. Ridiculous, and head scratching.

I thought the hurry up was really just no huddle to keep the same d package in. Evidently not. But i dont fet how lsu was thinking the hurry up was confusing the d. Seems like they should've kept with the no huddle but snap the ball with little left on the play clock.

It was more to benefit Mettenberger I think.

If you can't remember the last time we ran the hurry up offense, your memory sucks. We have run it several times this season, and also last season with Lee.

That said, it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. I didn't see a playcard in Miles' hand against TAMU, though...did you? He had one all game against USCe, but not TAMU.

Also, we threw the ball on 4 of 6 plays to open the drive...thankfully completing a big first down, but still...why throw at that point and stop the damn clock with a guy that completed less than 40% on the day?? Hill and Ford were averaging 7+ yds a pop! TAMUs DL had their hands on their hips.
