First off, I can't remember the last time we tried a hurry up offense.

But Les decides to pull it out the hat (pardon the pun) at the exact wrong time.

    WTF?

Trying to do anything to get the offense in rhythm. Not what you want to have to do at that point but it beats sticking to the same thing that isnt working.

I know what you're saying. My only guess is that they feel a quicker pace allows Mett to relax a little and get into a rhythm.

Actually they have run hurry up several times this year. Notably against South Carolina. I agree it is to help with rhythm and also to fatigue the other team's D. Not a bad idea to use when we can make it an advantage.

Yep, and our offense actually looks like an offense when we do run it. I've no problem with it, especially in yesterday's game as we marched right down the field.

I like the hurry up but the problem was often the play calling. Our OL was starting to take a toll on their Big 12 DL. We were establishing the run, yet they start going pass happy. The play calling was just plain stupid for a large portion of the game. We driving the ball with the run. Get it first and goal. Here comes a WR screen. Which rarely work because the line is stacked. Keep pounding it. If you are going to try to catch them off guard then go for a TD. The play calling just leaves you scratching your head.

Even Jefferson ran the up-tempo offense better than huddling. Don't overthink the plays, especially when grinding out the running game. Keep pounding the defense without a chance to substitute or catch a breath, much less to shift and stunt.

They were doing that because I think they are planning to do that against Alabama; Saban is even on record saying he hates the hurry up. I felt like that's what we SHOULD have done both times against Bama last year.

Since it's where Mett looks the best, I would hope the coaching staff is planning to do this on the 3rd.

And I must agree that we were beginning to wear out A & M's defense, then we proceeded to throw. People, we are trying to establish a passing game, but we are not executing it.

I was screaming at the TV when that happen. Snapping the ball with 20-30 seconds left on 2 or 3 consecutive plays. Absolutely poor awareness during the game.
