If LSU goes on to win the SEC tourney, and arguably would end up top 6 in baseball america poll and top 8 in the coaches poll, would this effect what team LSU would be playing in a future potential super regional matchup? I know I saw LSU pitted against FSU about a week back, is that already set in stone? I figure if LSU could finish 7th or so, they would face someone ranked around 10th in the nation, rather than 3rd or 4th like FSU currently is in the super regional.
Dunno but I did speak with a player's mom yesterday morning and got an invite to go. May have to make a lil run.
None of this has been set. Everything posted about potential hosts and seeding is about as reliable as those bracket analysis based on RPI simulations in basketball. We won't know for sure whether we'll host a regional, super-regional, or our seeding until Sunday. What we do know is if we are a top 8 national seed, we'd host a super regional. If we aren't top 8, we'd only host if our opposing top seed lost their regional.
host sites are announced on sunday, brackets announced on monday. the top 8 national seeds are the super-regional hosts unless they lose in their regional. then, if the host they are paired with wins, that team hosts the super. if we arent a national top 8 seed then we hope the host team of whoever we are paired with loses. every week the speculation of hosts and pairings has changed so who really knows until sunday. but, imo, we have to win the tourney to be a national seed.
If LSU wins the SEC tourney, and beats #8 Georgia to do it, I would bet my bottom dollar we HOST a super regional (i.e., we get a top 8 seed). Everybody on board?
Yep. I'd agree with that. I'd say it's pretty fair at this point to figure LSU will host a regional. Baring some freak happening. What a way to send the Box out though. If we could get a Regional and a Super there this year.
The way this team's been going, they could be paired to match up with Miami in a super, and they would lose in the regionals just so LSU could host... :tigereye::wave:
