I don't think that's true. If he has to go the JUCO route he will count on the 2009 class. Benton committed to LSU last year but did not count toward last year's class because he had to go to Hargrave. If he makes the grades this year he will count on this year's class. If I'm wrong someone correct me, but I believe I am right on this.

I project LSU to get into the low 2600s with Benton, DBrown, and 3 more high 4 star picks (of which Bryant is a possibility and one of them may be a surprise). That gives us 28 recruits, which is where I think we will end up.

If Bama gets Jones, then Bama finishes ahead of us. Georgia may be tapped out at 25 recruits. If they don't land any more high recruits, LSU may end up #3 just ahead of them.

Bottom line, we end up no lower than 4. I don't think FSU will do it's thing on signing day like normal.

you are absolutely right. In addition some of those two and three star players will possibly be impact players. When Jacob Hester committed he was a two-star player, and likes to joke that he kept LSU from being grabbing the #1 position. But look what that lowly
    two-star prospect has accomplished.

if we land DeAndre Brown, we have Deangelo Benton 5 star to put us with 3 - 5star recruits. that would put us above FSU for 4th...and if we land 4 star McCray, that'll bump us over bama, or very close to it.

Believe me, if we finish 2nd, 6th, of 8th it won't matter much (although obviously if we finish 2nd, then that means we got DBrown, probably McCray and Bryant, and one other big surprise, so maybe it matters a little).

All in all, teams across the country have to "fear the hat".

In a moment of rare recruiting talk, Miles earlier this year said we'd finish between 5-10...this is when we were in the mid teens and the usual fans were freaking out with all the "3 stars". It's almost as if he knows something we don't!

it is very possible, that we could land TJ Bryant, and Alonzo Lawrence (new 4star recuit), and we already have PJ. That could possibly be the best Backfield ever signed. You wanna dream about a dominate Secondary? Here is your chance.

CJones S, Patrick Johnson CB, TJ Bryant CB, and Alonzo Lawrence CB. And oh by the way, shut down Julio Jones, and intercepted a pass intened for JJ, and flat ran away from him, in the Bama/MS game.
