C'mon Parso, I'd predicted a top 5 and am hanging on to a signing day bomb to put us up even higher while also being comfortable with the players we're going to sign and knowing the class ranking is immaterial in that sense but it's the bragging rights and if Miles would somehow finish above Saban I'd go on a freakin drinking binge. Hell, even where we are it shows Miles is every bit as good but I'd like to at least inch a little closer if not jumping his azz.
I think CParso has reservations about us getting DBrown I would assume. Otherwise, there is no way he would project us ending 7th.
But if he signs with us, he counts towards our rankings no matter if he makes the grades or not. So I am saying CParso probably doesn't think he will sign with LSU, or maybe LSU won't offer him.
I ran all the numbers with Brown as a definite recruit....we still appear to wind up around 7 or 8. but hey, we shall see.
50% chance that DeAndre commits to LSU, but even with him I don't see us finishing any higher than 5th.
just look at it this way iststl team with current commits...this is the easiest and fastest factor to put together. 1. ND (22) easily stays ahead of us 2. UGA (25) easily stays ahead of us 3. Bama (26) almost done, probably ahead of us 4. FSU (21) it will be close....hope to god we pass em 5. UM (27) probably sign one more, LSU probably jumps em 6. UCLA (22) LSU will probably jump em 7. LSU 23 8. OSU (16) could easily jump us 9. UT (20) could easily jump us 10. USC (14) could easily jump us 11. OU (15) could easily jump us 12. UF (16) could easily jump us 13. TAMU (25) no chance they jump us 14. Mich (16) could still jump us I ran the numbers with all the kids that are highest on there list...giving points using rivals formula for stars, rivals 100 rankings, and positional rankings....we come out 7 to 8 at best. anyway...we shall see soon enough
I see it like you do, probably just getting in the top 10. I want to be #1 every year but top 10 is pretty damn good especially in a down year for the state. If Miles consistently brings in top 10 classes LSU will continue to compete for championships on a regular basis.
especially since this is a supposed "down year" in LA. i fully expect a top 3 class next year :thumb:
No offense, but a lot of you guys seem too hung up on this recruiting numbers game. Once you are in the top ten, it seems to me, you are an elite class. I understand wanting to have a highly regarded class, but is there really THAT much of a difference between a #7 class and, say, and #4 class? We already have a *good* recruiting class. Why obsess over moving up a spot or two?
