With the committment of Chris Tolliver to the Tigers, Rivals.com now has LSU ranked 11th in the nation in recruiting. One or two more 4 star recruits should put us into the top 10.

Rivals is also in the process of updating as we speak, so we may have one or two that move up from 3* to 4*. Most ahead of us have more commits than us, as CT is just our 21st...we will move up regardless, as most ahead of us can't take as many more commits as we can.

yes, but dont forget OU, Michigan, and UF are right behind us with a lot less commits at this point....not sure how many those are taking in 08 but Im pretty sure UF is taking a full boat.

USC, OSU, and UT will be tough to catch as they are ahead of us with less recruits. We catch TAMU no doubt....getting to UCLA at 6 and those above will be tough.

anyway, I think we have a damn good recruiting class  where ever we land in the rankings this season....which looks nearly impossible to be below 15.

My guess is we land around 12 or 13 in the end

The bruin's class is falling apart. The longer they go without a HC, the more recruits are looking around and starting to bail. Word is that Neuheisel may be named by Friday but out of the 7 guys who committed on "super saturday", 4 are likely to go elsewhere.

If LSU can get 3 or 4 guys upgraded to 4 stars (which is possible) in about 20 minutes from now, LSU will be pushing for 8th (up from 11th). If that happens, I can't see LSU finishing out of the top 10 in the end. A top 8 finish is what I am hoping for, which means we finished strong.

    Re: LSU ranked 10th

The re evaluation of the ratings dropped TAMU 2 spots and moved LSU up one to #10

however, where I think it is more important, LSU is #3 in the SEC and Bama (#2 in the country) is loading up at #1!! UGA is #2 in the SEC and #3 in the country.

That's awesome.....when Benton officially becomes a part of this class that will give a boost to the class ranking as well.

The reality is that we are pretty loaded with great talent at most positions already and won't have as many positions open and immediate opportunities to play as will Bama and UG.Keep in mind the ratings are all subjective anyway. We will move up before signing day.
This is a great class and I assure you a few guys are underrated.Besides, we've got to leave room for all the in-state talent next year...

Just to show how good Louisiana football is.

Even in a down year for the State, LSU has so far 12 of the top 15 players in the state, only 8 out of state players, and we still have a top 10 recruiting class...I'm excited about the future of LSU football...Can't forget that the last two recruiting classes have been terrific.
