Before Katrina, I was told that there was 1300 or something, but no one was really able to catch it after that (now, I catch it as a Dallas, Tx station sometimes). I've scanned through the channels several times the last couple of weeks, and there isn't much other than 1210. They're not bad, but it gets old listening to the same local guys call in every single day.

Sounds like you caught Buddy's show.

Had a chance to listen to 1210 lately a bit more than I normally do with frequent trips to a job site in Zachary. Jordy's pretty good. He's well-informed and doesn't d!ck around too much, but he's a little bit of a sunshine pumper. Ott is better. Always been a cut above the others in the area, but he's a little more of a doom-and-gloomer. Songy and Condon are intolerable. Songy's show sounds like you're listening to some slob have a phone party with his idiot friends. The guys really seems to draw the dullest of the dull. And Condon is just dumb. No other way to put it. He used to be entertaining in the 90's. But he's gone downhill considerably since then.

Right, there was 1210 and 1300 for a little while there. Ott had defected from 1210 over to 1300, but then Gustav came through and blew down their transmitter and that was the end of that station.

In the afternoons, I either listen to satellite radio or the faint WWL signal from New Orleans. They discuss both LSU and the Saints, which is something I enjoy. The 28 minutes of commercials on WWL every half hour are better than listening to Condon.

Baton Rouge needs another sports station with some of the LSU people on it and maybe steal the better hosts from 1210...throw on some ESPN radio in between
