Mike D says LSU will pursue Herman, Shaw, and Petrino in that order. A few other candidates may pop up but those are the big 3. I'm assuming this is speculation but Detelier is usually a straight shooter.

He doesnt know the list but he thinks these would be 3 of our top guys on a very short list. just clarifying that no one really knows who is on the list. he also said herman, petrino, and shaw last. He said all 3 would have serious interest. said it feels like briles will be at a mid major first. not a top 30 job but someone may take the risk.
Just read Petrinos buy out 10 mil. Do we really want to spend that on him before we even talk salary? Kind of a big risk considering his past plus I'd rather pay Herman 10 mil sign on bonus.
Herman is my first lottery choice, but I wouldn't be upset with Shaw. No way in hell I want Petrino in P&G, I don't think I could support or watch LSU football if that were to happen.
All the more reason that the timing of this sucks. It's Herman or bust. Petrino and Briles have been discussed as to the down sides, some of which is new to me. I like Shaw a lot, but I think fans would be just as frustrated with him. He has 2 unexplainable losses per year, granted his talent level may be a bit lower. I know a change was needed, but it's slim pickins in my opinion.
A surreal feeling.......can't believe LSU is in the coaching carousel again. Miles did it to himself, though.
There is also the possibility we could get a NFL coach. O'Brian is on the list of speculative online candidates. It's possible another could drop in our lap, but I would rather Herman or equivalent.
