Chill, Fish. Geez! You said that "The only way that happens is if JJ gets hurt". So I added to it by pointing other ways that would get Lee into the game. We're here to make comments, you know. Who put a burr under your saddle?
I've heard that Lee will see the field in two-minute situations and when playing from behind...when heavy passing is the only option. He's the best pure-passer we have and if he learns to see the field better (supposedly, this is happening) then he'll be a nightmare for opposing secondaries in quick-strike situations.
I also said "significant relevant" in the previous sentence. Had you quoted that whole post...instead of just the part you did...it's clear that you and I were saying EGGSACTLY the same thing. - I guess the reason I have a burr under my saddle is because if anyone says anything against Lee's performance last season...or in favor of JJ...people start calling them "Lee haters" and such. It's reality. I have seen very few what I would call "anti Lee" posts lately. 99% are rooting for the guy and respect him. - I just don't understand the mentality that Lee will see "significant relevant" playing time...unless... a)JJ gets hurt b)JJ isn't getting the job done - I want Lee to have a chance to improve and contribute...but not at the expense of the team. It would be detrimental to the team if JJ starts out at the helm...and Lee winds up seeing "significant relevant" playing time. It would mean that something isn't working out with JJ...or he is hurt. If Lee wins the job outright in camp...different story. I am saying all this predicated on JJ being the starter...which as of now...he is.
Here it is. If you're saying that LEE coming into the game up by four touchdowns against OOC comp is significant and relevant playing time...then I guess I see your point.:dis: - Like I said...of course he'll play in that sitch...as any back up would. I hope he does very well if/when that time comes. And furthermore, I hope that is the only time he's in the game...assuming JJ is the starter. That's not Lee hating...that's hoping JJ (or whomever the starter may be) does well and gets us up by 4 TDs against OOC comp.
I think JJ will be very good. However, my prediction is Chris Garrett will be the best out of all 4 of these guys. He is probably the best pure QB on the team right now.
Les wants to redshirt him and stagger the quarterback class. Probably makes good sense. A year of reading defenses in practice will help him a lot.
From all the practice reports I keep reading it appears Miles is very happy with the progress they are both making.
