I agree with this...thought he was implying Lee would see "significant relevant" time. (I still think that's what he was implying) The only way that happens is if JJ gets hurt, which is why I couldn't make the correlation...Lee seeing lots of playing time AND he has faith in JJ. To be honest, still doesn't make sense. You should let him (Beaux Bo) answer the question. It was he that I quoted...and it was he that I asked the question of. But yes...I agree with you that Lee will be #2 behind JJ and will see the field about as often as the backup normally does. I hope he does well and is able to get his confidence back.
I don't believe Lee should be thrown under the bus. I admire him for his toughness...he's not a quitter. - That said...I think the poster is simply saying he is the backup...and you shouldn't want the backup in the game until it's out of hand. I will be pissed if we have another QB carousel this season. I think it's best for everyone if JJ has a good season, and Lee doesn't see the field until it's mop up time. If anything else happens, it means either JJ isn't getting the job done...or is hurt. We don't want either. Too bad we can't be "real fans" like you.:dis: - Funny how...even if the backup used to be the starter...and was not very successful as the starter...as soon as he becomes the backup, he's suddenly the most popular player on the team! I too hope Lee doesn't see the field until it's out of hand. That would signal good things for LSU this season. If you think JJ is the starter...yet are rooting for Lee to have a second chance...sounds like YOU are rooting AGAINST JJ! Bottom line...I'm rooting for :LSU231:, and right now...that means I'm getting behind JJ.
Not really. If we get up by four touchdowns against the OOC opposition, Crowton will play Lee, and maybe Shepard, too. You have to give the reserves experience when you can. They are one injury away from having start.
I also think Lee will be used in situational plays, and in games that the offense maybe having troubles moving the ball. Giving a change of pace and adding additional wrinkles to the offense. JJ, Lee, and Shep all can create extremely difficult situations for opposing defensive coordinators.
I agree that this is what should happen, but history does not show this method with these two (Miles and Crowton).
Charley Mac used to love the platoon system (Jones/Lyons Woodley/Ensminger) but I don't think Miles and Crowton do.
my buddy just told me he heard crowton on espn radio say lee was going starting. is there any truth to this
Since Miles has traditionally not announced a starter until one trots out onto the field for the first snap, I find this hard to believe.
