Then why are you "concerned about the secondary"? Since you were obviously there, you know good and well that's the least of our concerns.
Yeah I realize that and should have clarified, sorry. Just hadn't heard if he'd played well or if he'd played at all. Don't worry about Simon, he's money.
It doesn't concern me because I realize we have one of the best secondaries in the country, 2 deep. Also, I've never said we have "Non SEC caliber QBs". It's all good, bro. I just don't have any concerns over the secondary. None.
I think we'll move the ball just fine. The problem is guessing whether a completion will occur at opportune times, and you can't predict that. Hence the fans' anxiety.
I would lean towards saying it's more of a good thing for Shepard than a bad thing for the secondary. At least, I hope that's the case. I imagine non-contact had a negative effect on those head hunters in the secondary.
First of all Miles doesn't lie he just plays dumb. JJ threw more than 10 passes and so did Lee. Most of the plays were run within the 50 yard line and the defense was ahead of the offense yesterday. DBs are very talented/deep and I would say even more so than last year. JJ got more playing time against the 1s than Lee. You really can't take much from a scrimmage like this given it is situational and the defense pretty much knows what is coming. The 1st half of the scrimmage consisted of no huddle fast paced offense to get the players in a groove and to see where they were at. Also in the booth given the new arrangement. When you see these reports the information that should stand out are the players who get mentioned by Miles as having great days. We know that Freak has earned his playing time in the 1st team rotation, Hatcher is coming along nicely at LB, Odell has the best chance to contribute immediately at WR, etc... Those are about the only things you can take from reports like these.
